Diffusion were Paul Zarins and myself, Malcolm Ramage. We met while I was working at the Huddersfield branch of the Computer Store chain in 1988, and shared a common interest in computer games.
I lost touch with him when I left the Computer Store in 1989, however I bumped into Paul again around November 1991 while walking through Huddersfield town centre. He remembered that I had a small music setup based around the Atari ST and a few keyboards and asked if I still had and used them. As it happened, I was looking for someone to work with on music ideas and collaborations, so we arranged to meet up and discuss ideas. It was from there, that Diffusion began.
Even though Diffusion split in 1998, our paths have on occasion followed similar paths and we still share some common goals. For some time now, Paul has linked to the old Diffusion page at the Soundworks.uk.com site via his MSN blog, and once this was picked up, I linked back there. This has been taken by some to mean we are about to start working together again, though to this day, I'm unsure if these same people (Or others) have asked Paul.
While I'm here (and a few other places on the internet), Paul has a few locations, including MSN, Yahoo groups (I'm there too, though as part of the OasysPCI group) and Myspace.
Since the split, Paul has gained a degree and has done work in a number of fields, and still maintains a keen interest in all things media. By his own admission on his MySpace site, he's still an electroboy when it comes to music, though does enjoy a wide range of other styles too, this is in keeping with how I remember him.
